The History of the FSA Youth Exchange

 

The FSA was founded in 1996.

It was registered as a Closed Corporation in South Africa in 1997. The registration number is 1997 / 006295/23.

The FSA Youth Exchange is VAT registered. The VAT number is 4440213017.

The FSA has two offices in South Africa. The office in Naboomspruit (Lodie de Jager) organizes the exchange for South African pupils to Germany. The office in Boksburg (Suzanne Baker) is responsible for the incoming German pupils and South African host families.

In Germany there are two FSA offices, the one in Bielefeld (Petra Jacobi) and the other in Würzburg (Nicole Ip). Although working together FSA in South Africa is an own juristic entity independent from the FSA in Germany.

The FSA Youth Exchange in South Africa has three programmes to Germany.

1. Four weeks programme during June / July

2. Three months programme from October to January

3. Four weeks programme during December / January

Until 31 December 2006 two thousand one hundred and ninety two (2192) learners from South Africa were selected to take part in the exchange programme.
